History

Aikido

Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba (O'Sensei or Grand Master). O` Sensei was born in 1883 in Tanabe, Japan. As a young man he practiced and researched various martial arts such as judo, kendo and jujitsu, which together represented his life's journey. In 1927 he moved to Tokyo and opened his first dojo - Aikikai Hombu Dojo, and the rest is very well known.

O'Sensei emphasized the moral and spiritual aspects of this skill, highlighting the development of harmony of spirit and peace. This is still true of Aikido today, although different styles differ on emphasizing the spiritual aspects of this martial art. Aikido focuses on the use of expressed dynamic movement to gain control over the enemy while avoiding any excessive use of force.

Even after the death of Morihei Ueshiba (1969), Aikido is expanding, developing and changing around the world.
Each newly created style has its advantages, and all are firmly rooted in the basic concepts which make Aikido the unique and effective self-defense skills.

Real Aikido

Ljubomir Vracarevic (Varazdin, 1947 – Belgrade, 2013), black belt 10th DAN, was a master and creator of Real Aikido style. During his first stay in Japan, he practiced aikido at the Hombo dojo at Kishomaru Ueshiba, 10 DAN, the son of Aikido founder MoriheI Ueshiba.

Respecting the achievements of the Japanese masters, he built his style according to the mentality, constitution and tradition of the people from the region from which he originated. His work with the police and special units of the military encouraged him to develop his own style, emphasizing the practical application of self-defense techniques.

Master Vracarevic gained his international reputation by training police and military units, security services, and bodyguards in countries around the world.

Self Defence Real Aikido System

In 2015 wishing to continue the development and preservation of the skills in accordance with their principles and experiences, a group of Masters parted from the World Center of Real Aikido and instituted a new martial art – Self Defense Real Aikido System. Following years of knowledge and skills growth, of active international presence and professional recognition worldwide, this development led to the founding of IFSRA.

The founders of IFSRA are Mr. Vladimir Vokic, Real Aikido 8.DAN, 5.DAN ju-jutsu and Mr. Branko Brescanski, Real Aikido 7.DAN, ju-jutsu 4.DAN.

The establishment of IFSRA is a step towards the improved and enhanced work of internationally recognized masters of several martial arts, specializing in methods of working self-defense techniques across two target areas.

The first target area is civilian self-defense, which is conceptualized through comprehensive authentic teaching work that is adapted to different interest and age groups / children, juniors, seniors /. Particular attention is paid to the youngest students, who study self-defense skills in a special program, which is adapted to their psycho-physical abilities. Another target area of IFSRA's work is working with special units of police, military and bodyguards.

Transparent and high-quality work and the IFSRA quickly led to the expansion of members. Shortly after the founding of IFSRA, numerous federations and alliances from countries such as France, Israel, Kazakhstan, Serbia, UAE, Egypt, Hungary, Northern Macedonia, Canada and Uzbekistan joined IFSRA.

Looking ahead of us, we are committed to strengthening our Alliances and our untiring dedication to the Masters. Furthermore, we are devoted to practicing and promoting this martial art as both practical and superb in the application of the aikido defense system techniques.
